Students are a vital part of the Westlake family. We incorporate students into many of the same activities adults participate in at Westlake (including numerous opportunities to serve in ministries), but we also have groups designed especially for middle school and high school students, as well as a students interested in drama. Surge (grades 6-8) meets most Sunday mornings during the second half of our Celebration Service for fun and for teaching from the Bible. Surge Mid-week meets on Wednesday nights from 7:30-9:00 pm at the Westlake offices for fun, games, teaching and small group time. Surge also plans parties, special events and retreats to help middle school kids connect with God and each other in a positive and safe atmosphere.
F.O.G. (high school) is focused on providing a safe environment where students can develop and grow in a relationship with Jesus and with each other. Students connect in small groups on Sunday evenings from 6:00-8:00 pm to study together what the Bible has to say about key life topics. F.O.G. also gathers for parties, paintball events, and retreats throughout the year.
Shockwave (grades 5-12) is a ministry where students learn to use their gifts and skills to connect people to Christ through all aspects of drama. Shockwave presents mini-dramas in the Splash! (children’s) ministry and in special programs and events.
