From the beginning of Westlake in March of 1996, we have strived to accomplish our mission to bring lost people to faith in Jesus Christ and equip them to follow Him completely by “doing church” according to the following core values, which we still seek to live out today.
We desire to reach out to the unchurched for Jesus Christ. Westlake Community Church continues to grow because we believe lost people matter to God.
We desire to honor God with our praise and with our daily lives. Worship is giving all that we are and all that we have to God. The ultimate priority for mankind is to worship God.
We desire to teach the Word of God with integrity, and wisely apply it to daily living in a manner that is relevant to the society in which we live.
We desire to communicate with God in prayer, and experience His presence as we ask Him to extend his work in our lives and our community.
We desire to connect with people, in small groups, where they can be loved, accepted and equipped to follow Christ fully. We believe God has called Christ followers to “do life” together, and small groups provide an ideal setting to experience Biblical community.
We desire to be servants and to invest in others as Jesus did. We believe God has designed His church to operate on the basis of spiritual gifts and desire, to encourage Christ followers to discover, develop and exercise their spiritual gifts within this Body.
We believe that the Bible calls all believers to give of their time, talents, and resources in order to further the work of the church.
We desire unity with diversity. We seek to walk in real unity with one another, within our church and within our community.
We desire to be honest and open in our relationship with God and with each other.
We desire to do everything with excellence for the glory of God.
