At Westlake, our mission is to bring lost people to faith in Jesus Christ and equip them to follow Him completely.
This mission is based on Jesus’ final instructions to his followers, known as “the Great Commission”—“. . . go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. . . .” (Matthew 28:19-20, New Living Translation)
We believe accomplishing this mission includes pursuing 5 distinct purposes for which God designed us:
Worship – We were planned for God’s pleasure.
Fellowship – We were formed for God’s family.
Discipleship – We were created to become like Christ.
Service – We were shaped for serving God and people.
Outreach – We were made for the mission of bringing lost people to Christ.
Everything we do at Westlake connects back to this mission and these purposes.
If you join us for one of our services you will quickly find that the focus of our “Celebration Service” is to worship God and to study his Word (the Bible) together, in a setting that is comfortable for people who are seeking to know how God fits into their lives. If you hang out around Westlake for any length of time, you will soon find that we encourage people to connect with others in small groups, where we can get to know and grow with others on a deeper level than we can when the entire church family is gathered together. And you will also learn that we offer countless opportunities for Westlakers to serve God and others, and to reach out to people who don’t yet follow Christ.
